I forgot...
See...I'm getting better at this already. It hasn't even been 24 hours and I'm putting a new post out there :) I forgot to mention in the last post that Aiden had his 9 month appt. on April 30th, and he weighed 25 lbs, 4 oz. and was 30 1/4 inches long. He is no longer off the charts. He is in the 97th percentile on everything now. I figured some people were probably wondering so I wanted to add that. And now it's time to go back to work.

Better late then never
Well I know it's been a couple weeks again, but Aiden and I were sick with colds and trying to get rid of them (which took quite awhile) and we've been gone a lot on the weekends, which is when I usually have time to write on the blog. Life just seems to keep getting busier. By the time we get home we have to feed Aiden and make dinner for ourselves, play with Aiden, give him a bath and get him ready for bed which is usually between 7:30-8:30 and we still have to do a few things around the house and the past few weeks, it's been to bed early for me because I wasn't feeling well. I promise to try harder over the next few weeks since we are staying home and feeling good.
So since the last post, we did Easter with Andy's family on April 26th. We went up to Phil and Cindy's. It was about a 3 hour ride, but Aiden did really well. Even though he had a cold, he was still happy to see everyone. He didn't get to have one of Cindy's yummy pork chops though. We're still working on Gerber puffs and Cheerios. Maybe next year. (Below are a few pictures from Phil and Cindy's)

The weekend of May 1st, Aiden and I went to Busha and grandpa Bezemek's. I had a bridal shower to go to. Aiden was still a little under the weather. He still had a little cold and he was teething. (Tooth number 8 is about a quarter of the way through) He had a low grade fever so he didn't want anything to do with anyone but me. He did go right to my friend Christy. It was their first meeting (she lives in Florida). They talk on the phone, so he must have recognized her voice. I was very excited to see her since it's been since January 2008. We'll get to spend more time with her in June and we are all looking forward to it! Uncle Eric was at my mom and dad's as well and Aiden did eventually go to him and was having lots of fun. He felt better on Sunday before we left so everyone got to enjoy him then. For some strange reason, Aiden likes to sit in a clothes basket. We stuck him in one at home once to be funny and he loved it. So while we were at mom and dad's, we put him in theirs but they have clothes pins in theirs and Aiden thought it was so much fun to throw them out of the basket.
Aiden is talking a lot. He says "baby" now. I'm sure he doesn't know what baby means, but he can say it. I was hoping for a "mama" for Mother's Day, but no such luck. He still has a lot of dada's, gaga's and baba's. He's still doing very well at his new day care. We really like her a lot and Aiden does too. He's always smiling and laughing when I pick him up. We're starting to introduce more foods to him. It's fun watching all the faces he makes when he eats something he hasn't had before. He's doing pretty good with a sippy cup. He loves water. He prefers that to juice. I haven't left Andy alone to feed him again since the last time :) Anyway, it's getting late and I need to get ready for bed. I promise to try to get some good pictures this weekend since we'll be home and get a post up sometime on Sunday.

Easter
Okay, I know it's been awhile again but we've just had a lot going on lately. We had to find Aiden a new daycare which he started on Wednesday and we like it so far. He's getting back on a normal schedule again which is very nice. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we continue to like it.
He got another tooth. We thought he was for sure going to get his top eye teeth next but we were wrong. He got another one on the bottom. So he's up to 7 now. We've been giving him the Gerber Graduate puffs which he didn't really like at first but he's getting better with them. I'm sure it's just a weird texture for him since everything else he eats is smooth. I had to post some more pictures of him eating. I let Andy do it by himself for one day and....

We had a nice Easter at my parents house last weekend. Aiden had a good time. He had both sets of grandparents there, great grandma, Uncle Eric and some of his great aunts and uncles and lots of cousins. The Easter bunny brought Aiden a Little Tikes 30th Anniversary Cozy Coupe. I don't have a picture to post because I was using the video camera (someday Andy will get the software back on the computer so I can post videos too). I'll have to get one from one of the grandma's. He loves riding around in the car. It's a good workout for mom and dad too! We didn't have enough room in the Equinox to bring it back to Lansing with us, so my mom and dad came Friday night and brought it. I'm glad they did because it was so nice out on Saturday, we were able to have him outside. We pushed him up and down the sidewalk. Then we pushed him down to the park and put him in the swing. He wasn't too sure about swinging. He didn't cry but he didn't giggle like he does in his car. He did like the slide though. I have a feeling as he gets older, we'll be spending a lot of time in that park since it's just a block away. Here are a few Easter pictures.

Aiden has started to rock while he sits on the floor so my mom brought out the little rocker she has and he liked it but we had no way to strap him in and he's our little wiggle worm now. He does not want to sit still ever. I guess if he's anything like me, we're going to have to get another rocking chair so we can both rock and fall asleep in the rocking recliners.

He's really wanting to talk more and more. He says gagagaga and dadadadada a lot now. Sometimes it almosts sounds like he says doggie. But I guess we'll consider Dada his first word. We'll put him in his crib at night to go to sleep and for about 10-15 minutes all you can here is him talking away. I wonder where he gets that from????
Anyway, I hear him waking up from his nap and I'm sure he's going to want to eat dinner. It's not bath night but he got food in his hair at breakfast so we figure we might as well let him make a mess and give him a bath again tonight and then he'll be all clean for daycare.
Next weekend we do Easter with Andy's side of the family so that'll be fun too, I'm sure. We'll be getting back late next Sunday so the blog will more than likely have to wait until during the week. I'll try to get a picture of him in his car so I can post that as well. Until next week...

Get in my belly
I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything but it just seems like I'm never on the computer when I'm home anymore. Aiden continues to grow, but never did get his new teeth. He's starting to drool again so we'll see what happens this time. His new thing is wanting to feed himself. It's a good thing that he wants to try but man is it messy. We have to let him learn though. It is quite amusing to watch him.

I think we're going to start feeding him in his diaper from now on though. Porter absolutely loves it. Aiden will reach out for Porter while he eats and Porter just wants to lick him because he's wearing half of his meal.
Since we're mentioning Porter, I have to share this super cute picture of Andy and Porter from earlier today. We have such a neglected dog, can't you tell?
Today, Aiden got to see Grandma and Grandpa Marple and got to meet Barb, Khris, Brandon, Drew, Mike, Lisa, Mariah and Travis. He didn't make strange with anyone which was nice. We had a nice dinner and visit. Aiden was out like a light at 7:30 and will probably sleep like a rock until at least 5:30. And on that note, I better get ready for bed just in case we actually get all the snow they're saying we're going to get tonight. Here's one last picture.

More Teeth
So Aiden will be 8 months old on the 30th and most kids only have 1 maybe 2 teeth at that age. Not ours. He has 6 right now and his top 2 eye teeth will be making an appearance very soon. He's been a little fussy over the past few days so we looked in his mouth and sure enough, you can see white under his gum's again. I'm not sure if we should start him on Gerber 3rd foods or steak and potatoes next :)
Earlier in the week while it was warm out we took Aiden out in his stroller while Andy and I raked up the front yard. He was loving it. And with all the fresh air, he slept like a rock that night too. I think he will enjoy going for walks with Andy and Porter as it starts to get nicer out.
Uncle Eric stopped by on Saturday with Aiden's first Easter basket. He said maybe next year there will be a chocolate bunny but Aiden was pretty excited about the Enfamil.

I couldn't resist taking the below picture. He looked so peaceful and sweet I thought I would share it with everyone. To be a baby again with no worries...

So what to tell everyone this week...Aiden is feeling better. He has a little cough left but that seems to be getting better as well. He learned the art of splashing in the tub. He finds it quite amusing and I end up pretty soaked by the time the bath is over. He got his new convertable car seat on Thursday. He was just too big for the infant carrier anymore. It's crazy that we needed a new one at 7 months but we just have a big kid.
We had a busy weekend. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Marple's Friday morning. He had all sorts of fun. He had so much stuff to look at, play with and another dog to mess with and of course he wanted to grab Stout like he does Porter. Stout was good with him though. Grandma & Grandpa watched Aiden for us while we went to the Red Wings game last night. It was nice for Andy and I to get out by ourselves for a night, even though the game was horrible. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed having him and I think Aiden must have had lots of fun too because he slept for over 2 hours when we got home today.
Anyway, it's 8:30 now and I still need to give Aiden a bath so I guess that's all for now.

Sick
This has been a long week. Tuesday night, Aiden went to bed about 8 pm like normal. At about 9:30 he woke up crying and it was not his normal cry. He was wheezing and had a sharp, nasty cough. He sounded horrible. Of course, being new parents and since it wasn't too late, we called Grandma Marple for advice. She heard him over the phone and said it was definitely a croupy cough. So we spent a lot of the time in the bathroom with hot water running so he could breathe in the steam. I stayed in the recliner that night and let him sleep on me so he could be more upright. We probably got up 3 times throughout the night to sit in the steam. He was a little better by morning. Andy and I both stayed home on Wednesday so that I could sleep while he took care of Aiden. The cough turned into a nasty cold, so Andy stayed home with him on Thursday and then my mom and dad came to stay with him Friday since my dad is layed off for the winter and my mom has been put on four 10 hour days with Friday's off. He hasn't had a fever at all and for the most part has been pretty happy. He's sometimes a little fussy when he wakes up but I think he's getting better. His nose is running like crazy and he absolutely hates the snot sucker. I feel bad everytime I have to do it, but I know it has to come out. Hopefully he'll get better soon. I guess we'll see how he's doing in the morning to decide if we take him to day care or if I stay home.

Here's a picture of our poor little guy this week. Next weekend we go to grandma and grandpa Marple's so hopefully he'll be happy and we'll have a better picture to post.
